Trepidation A First Person Shooter Based On The Q3 Engine
Trepidation is a first person shooter set in the future based on the GPL IOQ3 Quake Engine. Trepidation features all new weapons, maps and vehicles.. Currently planned game types are DM, CTF, Last Man Standing and 2 others to be announced.

Trepidation intends to be a free multiplayer first person shooter based on the IOQ3 Quake 3 Engine. The game media will fall under the creative commons license with a few exceptions that fall under the GPL v2. The source code falls under the GPL v2 license so that others can improve and expand upon. Trepidation will include many standard gametypes such as DM, TDM, and CTF with instagib options, as well as the introduction 2-4 new gametypes. Each game mode will have additional attributes that can be activated via the configuration such as wall jumping, double/multijumping, instagib,multiflag and return the flag (for flag based games).

VOIP Support in the IOQ3 Engine!
From the IOQUAKE3 Site:

Lets examine two quick points:
Hardcore gamers like choices.
Hardcore gamers like VOIP.

Based on these theories, ioquake3 is adding VOIP support for the next release. This internal support is going to bring along with it support for (entirely optional) Mumble positional VOIP audio. More nerd-speak after the break, the short and quick of it is, however:

We’re going to have VOIP for mods/new games, and baseq3. This is a pretty radical departure from the initial goal of not changing anything in baseq3, and is probably the single largest (obvious) end-user benefit for using ioquake3.

The fact of the matter is that if you want to blame someone for allowing it to be included, you can blame me (Zachary, lead omnipresent overseer of ioquake and related entities). If, however, this makes you happy and you want to praise somebody, give either big ups OR big props to Ryan Gordon (lead intergalactic space nerd) and Ludwig (Herr Angst).

The Voip Support is already in the ioq3 SVN..

Running Again
Back from a bit of a hiatus and ready to get rolling again.

Sound Engineer
Responsible for creating and maintaining the various sounds. Including, but not limited to weapon sounds, player sounds, world sounds and any sound effect needed for the completion of v1.0.

2d Artist
The Trepidation project is seeking 2d Artists to help designing textures and 2d art for Trepidation, a Quake III Engine based game.

3d MD3/MDR Artist
The Trepidation project is seeking 3d Artists to help designing weapon and world models for Trepidation, a Quake III Engine based game. The model formats used in the game are MD3 and MDR/MD4 format. If interested, shoot an email or visit our forums

Q3 Engine Level Designer
The Trepidation project is seeking level designers to help designing levels for Trepidation, a Quake III Engine based game. Levels are needed for a variety of game types.
